The Psi-Core are crystalline containers that hold the remnants of a Psychic Storm. Immediately after one of these storms exhausts its fuel, the mental energy is gathered in a specialized container, which is then transferred to a more durable vessel. In the Astral Sea, these containers can be utilized to expedite the movement of medium-sized vessels such as astral skiffs.
The pilot directing the motions of a vessel powered by a Psi-Core engine undertakes an exceptionally hazardous occupation. If inattentive, the pilot may become entirely depleted by the engine they are psychically steering. This psychic burnout, akin to a devastating psychic tempest, can render them in a near-catatonic state.
