The Pugad Dig are mining tunnels that descend from the Pugad hills into the Underdark reaches of Fangath. In 2950 LE, at a depth of 3000 feet beneath the surface, Merorarg's miners breached the Underdark region of Maleddanar. Soon after, the Tragarans of the surface clashed with the goblin city-state of Hlothrabatta and the Mîmêk city-state of Galir-Khizad over the rich gold veins. They alternated between conflict and commerce, even working to incite tensions between the others. The Tragarans were ultimately driven from the area during the Pugad War (812 - 817). When Ba'lith took control, they continued similar activities but employed more brutal and sinister methods.
