The first Knock Knock was invented by the dwarven smiths of Numakkhalgu. They crafted this item to assist in reclaiming Forgeheim. The doors in Forgeheim had been constructed by stone giants and dwarves, so they recognized that even their own kind would struggle to breach them while under constant ranged bombardment. They devised a small figurine that, when activated, expanded into a compact hand-held battering ram suitable for use in confined corridors and areas unsuitable for large siege engines. Knock Knock proved remarkably effective at breaching even adamantine vault doors. The one employed at Forgeheim now rests as part of a monument in Numakkhalgu.

Knock Knock is a compact battering ram designed for a team of four operators. This size is relative to the individuals carrying it; for a crew of giants, it would be comparable to a full-size ram wielded by a team of dwarves. Knock Knock can be utilized to either breach a door through forced entry or be activated into ramming mode. When in ramming mode, a chain extends from the top of the device and secures to any overhead ceiling within 40 feet, transforming it into the equivalent of a small battering ram.
