Chaos Cannon

Chaos Cannon
Category Artillery
Type medium cannon, magical

The initial chaos cannons were forged during the Creation War. These are magical instruments that discharge globules of entropic energy. In most regards, they resemble conventional artillery, with the sole distinction being their magical projectile propulsion rather than reliance on gunpowder or other explosive means. The munitions for a chaos cannon necessitate access to entropic energy, a rather scarce resource.

There are techniques to extract entropic energy from creatures, but this process is gradual and frequently perilous. The most prevalent method of harnessing entropic energy for a weapons facility is through an energy rift. Entropic energy rifts exist in numerous documented locations and undoubtedly in even more undiscovered sites. Similar to other rifts, in populated areas energy rifts are typically controlled by the state or other influential entities.

The original chaos cannon forged during the Creation War is valued at five to ten times the price of any present-day chaos cannon of the same model. The damage inflicted by a chaos cannon varies based on the target's ethical alignment. Chaotic entities sustain 50% less harm, Lawful ones endure 50% greater harm, while Neutral parties receive standard damage.
