Arakgandal is an engineering marvel, linking four spires with a mountain bastion. The longest section of this bridge spans three miles and is suspended nearly a mile above a deep crevasse. Many parts of Arakgandal have their supports anchored to large earth motes. These motes and some of the larger ones house numerous dwarves or serve as roosts for aerial creatures. All the Arakgandal spans link to an ancient bastion called Forgeheim. The importance of Arakgandal stems from the numerous mines in the area, which yield gemstones, iron, and blutium.
