In the Third Ugradrath War (1531 - 1539), this volcano was frozen by an expanding glacier named Cari'phis Tooth. This unnatural ice field, the result of destroying an artifact, severed the volcano's supply of lava and heat, transforming it into a lifeless icy cone. Since that time, Berir has become a haven for icy creatures such as frost giants, remorhaz, yeti, frost salamanders, and ice mephits.
