In the Third Ugradrath War (1531 - 1539), a momentous battle unfolded between the armies of the Orchish Empire and the Khazarkar Empire. As the Khazarkar forces were crumbling, an arch-mage wielded the retributive strike of his formidable staff. This staff, named Cari'phis's Tooth, was no ordinary mage's implement, but rather an artifact topped with a primordial tooth from the deity Cari'phis. When the staff was shattered, it unleashed an icy blast that froze the land for miles in every direction. The expanding ice entombed thousands of soldiers from both sides, even extinguishing the fires of Berir.
The icy and frigid Cari'phis Tooth, even during the warmest months, serves as the domain for chilly creatures such as frost giants, remorhaz, yeti, frost salamanders, and ice mephits.
