Hejan Spires is an unnatural wasteland situated on the southeastern edge of Guramarth. It came into existence with the opening of the Togomud Sink. This was a side effect of the rift's opening, creating cracks in Bal-Kriav's Web of Magic. As fine streams of arcane energy seeped into the land, it caused millions of jagged spires to burst through the surface across a 1000 square mile area. To the consternation of Rilirthad, and more specifically Gebs Chosen, this area became a natural dam to the Granitoid Spill.
Hejan Spires is a perilous region to traverse. At unpredictable intervals, ranging from mere minutes to several months, towering spires of rock unexpectedly erupt from the earth. These formations either topple existing spires or become new landmarks altering the landscape. Even Earthen armies under the command of Rilirthad have endured devastating losses from the sudden emergence of these formidable spires.
Occasionally, earth elementals emerge from the surface alongside these towering spires. They are believed to be traversing temporary rifts formed by the region's instability. However, on an alien world, their period of liberty is short-lived, as the slave settlements surrounding the Hejan Spires derive much of their revenue by enslaving these rogue elementals and selling them to merchants or the armies of Rilirthad.
