Type drug
Source manufactured

Ragnarok is an exceptionally potent and addictive narcotic. It is manufactured by exposing ragnarok fungi to sunlight, where the substance desiccates, resulting in a fine powdery residue. The transformation from natural fungus to the illicit drug Ragnarok requires roughly three weeks.

The powder is then combined with a liquid. Addicts refer to it as "Ballistic". This drug influences the user's testosterone levels, sense of awareness, and proclivity toward violence. The doses possess a cumulative effect that can lead to addiction and permanent psychological harm or even fatality. The allure of the substance stems from the sensation of invulnerability and ecstasy experienced during high-tension activities such as gambling, physical altercations, and intimate relations.

The primary producers of Ragnorak maintain the drug's price at an affordable level. Crimson Eye and the Orchish Empire ensure prices remain low, enabling even the most impoverished beings to acquire it. Its usage has proliferated across nearly every prominent settlement in the realm. Ragnorak's importation has been prohibited in certain regions due to its remarkably addictive nature. During periods of conflict, military forces appear to circumvent these restrictions.

Fungi Form

Ragorank emanates a captivating, fruity aroma reminiscent of grapes. When in darkness, it radiates a soft, lavender glow. However, upon exposure to sunlight, the substance dries into a delicate powder.

Powder Form

Anyone inhaling the fine particulate matter will be seized by bouts of coughing, choking, and gagging. A small amount flung into someone's face necessitates a Fortitude saving throw (DC 15) or they are drained of 2-8 constitution points.

Liquid Form

When combined with a liquid, it imparts a discernible purple hue.

Addiction Rating

Ragnorak possesses an alarmingly high rate of addiction. Similar to any chemical dependencies, a cure for the ailment will culminate in the severance of reliance on the substance.

If the creature is addicted, there is a 5% possibility per hour of abstinence that the individual will endeavor to procure the substance, or consume it if they possess a supply. Failing to obtain the drug leads the addict to enter a state akin to dose 3 of the drug. The addict will exert all efforts to acquire the substance.

Consumption Effects

When consumed in liquid form, it stains the user's mouth a light purple with dark purple splotches. The user immediately experiences the effects. Consuming an entire vial (3 doses) requires a Fortitude DC13 check. Failure results in cardiac arrest. Death will ensue within 1-3 rounds unless a cure serious wounds or greater spell is used on the victim. Electrical stimulation has a 35% chance of reviving the creature. CPR has a 15% chance of reviving the creature.
