The Phamilgûn class of submersibles are constructed from the discarded shells of dragon turtles. The crafting of these vessels involves a collaborative effort between the shipping conglomerate Dregriel Sturn and the arcanists of Ilôthawar. The Ivory Asylum's ocean navy, Ora Tubruš, holds the exclusive contract for the deployment of these specialized submarines.
Dragon turtles are frequently encountered along the shoreline, where they come to rest prior to succumbing to natural causes. Alternatively, they may be slain in combat. When they submerge into the frigid depths of the ocean, we enlist the aid of aquatic races to retrieve them. The interior of the shell and head of the creature is then hollowed out at the shipyards. Both the interior and exterior are reinforced with sturdy timber. Finally, the head of the deceased beast is straightened and equipped with a formidable ram.
Miruš, venerable engineer of the Dregriel Sturn - "Crafting a Phamilgûn"
Phamilgûns are primarily employed for coastal patrols and the defense of harbors. They are sluggish and unwieldy, rendering their deployment in open waters perilous and of minimal strategic value against swiftly maneuvering vessels. Occasionally, they are towed to enemy coastlines and utilized for the purposes of sabotage, espionage, and ambushes.
