The Shou warlord Norato established the monastery of Zujukiz, which evolved into a training center for a monastic society that favored unarmed combat over conventional weapons. As the wars to unify the warlords under a central authority raged, Zujukiz grew into a fortified citadel that sheltered peoples caught in the crossfire. Upon the founding of the Shounejo Empire, Zujukiz was designated as its capital city.

The picturesque city of Zujukiz is situated on the slopes of the majestic Armuqul Qunzul. The cascading waterfalls and intricate network of aqueducts that flow into the city, though more aesthetically pleasing than practical, lend an air of serenity. In the Second Epoch, the introduction of water motes provided the city with a supply of fresh, potable water, replacing the mineral-rich flow from the mountain. The abundance of visually captivating structures, adorned with colorful stones in their pillars, statues, and monuments, as well as the grand, ornate vases housing diverse flora, make Zujukiz a crowning achievement of Geejudan architecture and design.

The bustling trade of Zujukiz has earned it the moniker "City of One Hundred Markets". The city's beauty, commerce, and scale render it one of the top ten cities in MidrĂȘth.

The initial ju-ju zombies were crafted by the necromancers of Zujukiz. They were created for martial aims to safeguard the passages descending from Qibemjues. They harried the progress of barbarian incursions during the formative period when Zujukiz was merely a fortified settlement. In the Second Epoch, this practice was prohibited throughout all Shou territories.
