Vîlnên is a subterranean empire spanning three tiers. From the uppermost Maleddanar Region, the nation emerged as a monarchy, forged in the aftermath of the two-year war between Garâl-Thûru and the rival city-state of Galir-Khizad. After the conflict concluded, guerrilla fighters, primarily Mîmêk and Derro, vowed to continue their struggle until the liberation of Galir-Khizad.

The Mîmêk, particularly the ardent devil worshipers, were the most problematic. Their raids were conducted primarily for the purpose of capturing individuals rather than for plunder. The captives were then offered as sacrifices to a diabolical minion serving Asmodeus.

The malevolence and sinister convictions of our adversaries engendered the crusaders. Zealots of Geb, the church incited the populace to war. They swore to liberate the Mîmêk and Derro from extraterrestrial influences.

The First Geb Crusade, a protracted decade-long war, resulted in the capture of nearly twenty-thousand individuals. This dark chapter in the annals of Vîlnên's past saw many of those apprehended subjected to indoctrination camps and subsequently dispatched to labor projects across the expansive, inefficient, and increasingly corrupt empire.

In the Galir-Khizad Uprising, the Galir-Khizad seceded from Vîlnên. This turbulent conflict lasted from 461 HE to 464 HE.

Today, the most intensely contested region of Vîlnên and Taklumlode is Zirâg-Tharam, an area of immense mineral affluence and sacred importance to the Church of Geb.
