Zii Horvutah daggers were first created by members of the Vith Alok as a means to harness the latent energy of souls. They are designed to aid in the creation of a dracolich from the soul of a dying dragon that may lack the fortitude to withstand the transformation into a dracolich. The soul-draining capability of a Zii Horvutah classifies it as a Cairn Scythe.
These daggers are invariably malicious implements, and typically enchanted to a +3 bonus.
