Aphenarun

Aphenarun, an unnatural mountain at the heart of the Karnegmoth region, underwent a dramatic, divinely induced transformation during the Third Epoch. Instead of erupting with lava, the old volcanic cone began to spew vast volumes of water down its slopes. This continuous eruption generated great geysers and clouds of steam. Downslope, the shores of Lake Waloom expanded tenfold, while the Knaevan river widened in the ensuing years. The surrounding area for miles became increasingly wet and rainy, all a result of the opening of the Waterhaven Channel - an inter-system rift leading to an seemingly endless expanse of water deep within the realm of Chaos, with the Bal-Kriav side situated deep inside Mount Aphenarun.

The goddess Lokestant, the offspring of the deities Tempestant and Phalgas, resides within this mountain. Her magnificent city, Halius, is situated atop Aphenarun's caldera.
