Aemar was established by stone giants who had previously served under Hettar. Situated along a deep fjord, Aemar stretches into the highlands of Iberak.

In the Horgon Era, Aemar ascended as the capital of the Gadstill Dynasty.

After the sack of Aemar in 1533 HE, the settlement was promptly abandoned. The new occupants, not privy to an ancient non-aggression agreement between the stone giants and the region's white dragons, fell victim to acts of terror and a structured insurgency funded by a millennia-old alliance.
