The Iberaks are majestic, ice-capped peaks situated north of Khalas. Similar to most regions within the Ice Cap domain, these highlands are blanketed in an expanse of azure ice. The summits are permeated with excavations initiated by bygone civilizations and currently operated by the Brisingr, Icyke, the goliath, and the Azwyr Amoruk.
Mining has been conducted in the Iberaks for millennia. The distant predecessors of the Brisingr toiled in the mines as freemen for a time, then as slaves to the Gadstill Dynasty, and now, once more as free individuals. During the Horgon Era, many of the region's other humanoid populations suffered a similar fate. Some Ice Cap caves contain ancient paintings created by the Goliath, depicting a period when they were in bondage and led by giants - an evident reference to the Horgon Era, when two Titan Empires held sway over much of Ice Cap. For a time, the Gadstill Dynasty ruled the western reaches, while Saer Erkjorg governed the east.
