Estandarenya was once the majestic capital of the Lorthrindal empire.
In 1130, Estandarenya fell to the Orchish Empire, culminating the downfall of the Kingdom of Lorthrindal. Thereafter, the devastated city was governed by a military commander, the hobgoblin general Porkripper of the Fograth. For approximately three decades, the general presided over the region. However, in 1157, relentless attacks by Lorthrindal guerillas and declining morale due to their enemy's cruel tactics prompted the High Command to abandon Estandarenya to the wilderness, deeming the city too costly to maintain. The wood elves of Lorthrindal, now a cursed and feral people, never reclaimed the ruins.
