In 1584, the inaugural canal connecting the Sea of Galathien and the Bog Sea was opened. Designated Hîngar-Hloth in remembrance of the family decimated during the Black Tide War (1465 - 1486), the canal measures between 200' and 400' in width. Forged through magical and physical exertion, it serves as a vital commercial conduit linking the harbors of the two seas.
The banks of the canal are scattered with fishing villages, towers, fortresses, and five municipalities. Each of these towns, beholden to the Divine Empire, govern the bridge crossings.
