The Kuthral is a dense, viscous lake of oil situated within the Lurans. The glistening, ebony surface is frequently blanketed by a layer of water and debris. When the radiant rays of Merioss and Khâls Forge evaporate the water, reckless individuals occasionally ignite the oil. These blazes persist for days, sometimes months, casting a pall over the surrounding lands. Eventually, Oakenbeard and other more prudent souls extinguish these infernos using weather-summoning spells.
