Maitimírë is an Underdark lake located within Ufthag. The lake lies on the northern side of Cairn Ascent, necessitating a journey around this road to reach the surface or by traveling upstream from the Green Nebulous.
Periodically, an inter-system gateway manifests within Maitimírë, forging a connection between Bal-Kriav and one of the domains of the Gray Waste. This gateway is known as the Styx Fountain, and when it opens, a tributary of the legendary river Styx seeps into it. The corrosive waters of Styx taint the liquid they touch, causing some of the stone along the lake's bed and banks to transmute into Styx Granite.
Maitimírë and the surrounding caverns are frequently patrolled by the Tîra-Phâth. These cultists exhibit little interest in travelers of this domain, but rather focus on threats posed by those emerging from the Styx Fountain.
