Construction on this place began with the fall of Tinnanguth. The military leaders of Akthol-Tharag believed it was only a matter of time before Tinnanguth's former Earthen slaves turned their attention to them. This prediction soon came to pass, as the dao warlords of the Dao Civil War inflamed tensions between the free Earthen and the other peoples of Karnegmoth, accusing them of doing nothing to prevent Tinnanguth from enslaving their kind.

Mîm-Gûled is a formidable fortress constructed within the walls of four slender peaks. The slopes of these peaks have been meticulously sculpted to form a semi-circular rampart, standing 400 feet tall and sheer. The exquisite stonework is so well-executed that from a distance, save for the presence of a road terminating at the fortress walls, the site appears as a vast box-canyon. Upon closer inspection, the canyon walls reveal the outlines of numerous doors, varying in size and shape. In times of strife, these openings are unveiled to unveil fighting platforms and ramps.

Beyond this mountain stronghold lies a road with over a hundred winding switchbacks. This thoroughfare is known as the Khulan Band. It ascends into the towering peaks of the Elephant Backbone. Mîm-Gûled watches over this road leading into the heartland of Akthol-Tharag.
