The towering Elephant Backbone mountain range spans the breadth of the Straiden continent, its loftiest peaks exceeding 60,000 feet and visible from five surrounding seas. This formidable mountain range traverses three distinct regions: Izagunbar and Karnegmoth to the north, and Weretopia to the south. The western tracts of this ancient range are home to the oldest dwarven civilization of Bal-Kriav, the Akthol-Tharag, descendants of the victors in the Creation War that ravaged the land from 1486 DE to 8777 DE.
The Elephant Backbone features a rugged topography, with towering cliffs, steep ravines, and an inhospitable terrain that is ill-suited for wheeled transport. Consequently, the majority of trade and travel traverses the evergreen forests of Cimgen, along the renowned Covenant Roads.
