Izagunbar is the northeastern region of the continent Straiden. It is bordered to the north by the Pearl Sea, west by Karnegmoth, east by the channel sea Salzârrâk, and constrained to the south by the Elephant Backbone. The area is renowned for its four deep bays, abundant fjords dotted with homes and mines, and two mighty rivers navigable deep into the continent's interior.
In the Creation War, this region witnessed the clash between Poseidon and Covenant forces centered on Rîni. One of the relics from that conflict is the Sea Titan Wall, a structure of such immense proportions that it could not be constructed today without the combined efforts and resources of multiple empires.
In the Demon Spawn War, Izagunbar witnessed the clash between the Covenant commander Mêzelurûs and the demonic armies led by Dagon. Rather than be consumed by Dagon's Cairn Scythe, Mêzelurûs sacrificed her energy to the land, creating the Terraces of Mêzelurûs and forever altering the growth of flora and fauna across a wide expanse of the region. Consequently, most settlements now reside on the coasts, nestled against mountains, or on the opposite side of rivers, avoiding the terrors that prowl Zendanul, lurk in the depths of the inland Mizzen sea, and evade the stampeding herds of Shathirmun.
In the Horgon Era, fleeing the downfall of Abathigur on Necrocrypt, the Hydrocur arrived at the northern bays of Izagunbar. Their creations, the Elderaunts, seized control after the Hydrocur were expelled. Currently, the majority of the region's Elderaunts are subjects of the Tâchpachâr confederation.
The subterranean realm beneath Izagunbar is known as Enjof. During the Graer Breach, vast portions of this subterranean domain became inundated with seawater.
