The Hydrocur, water archons corrupted by entropic energies, were part of the Chaos Archon faction. During the Creation War ( 1486 DE - 8777 DE ) , they served the Lords of Chaos.
In the Horgon Era, they were brought to Bal-Kriav in the Shiphis Helas, an ancient primordial troop ship. Similar to Osâchar, the world they had fled, the Hydrocur served as overseers, soldiers, and police. They unquestioningly followed the orders of their Durkoth masters, just as they had done while serving the Primordial Lords during the Creation War.
In 1011 HE, the Abâthigûr Empire fell. The Hydrocur, second-rank citizens of the empire, became the masters of a vast domain spanning Necrocrypt, southwest across the Buccaneer Archipelago, and into the Karnegmoth region. Under the Durkoth, they had never participated in civil governance, so when their masters mysteriously vanished during the Durkoth Descent (995 HE - 1355 HE), the situation deteriorated rapidly. On Necrocrypt, the heart of the empire, the Sussgurd rose up in a series of rebellions. They took to the jungles and highlands of Gathrot and its sister islands, utilizing guerrilla tactics against their new Hydrocur overlords. In the fourth year of the Sussgurd-Necrocrypt Rebellion, the Hydrocur cornered the rebels towards Maphas-Kas. In this area, particularly at the Cinnuru Mine, the rebels fell prey to powerful undead, necromantic traps, and other malevolent influences left behind by Molakh-Búle. Many rebels became undead themselves, turning against the living and either slaughtering them or converting them to the ranks of the undead. For the remainder of the civil war, they posed a threat to both sides.
In 1019 HE, the majority of the Hydrocur boarded their aquatic vessels and journeyed northward to the bays of Izagunbar. Prior to their departure, some resourceful Hydrocur plundered Barâb-Tarban. Within this Mularûn prison laboratory, they seized tomes and other remnants left behind during the Durkoth Descent. Their intent was to leverage this knowledge of their former overlords to replenish their stock of servitors.
In the depths of Ginnoth, approximately 1800 miles from Necrocrypt, they founded the settlement of Bue'kaa. With minimal resistance, they seized control of the nearby bays, islands, and coastal tracts. They raided the mainland, capturing humanoids and other creatures. They conducted experiments on these captives, with the goal of creating soldiers to assist them in reclaiming Abâthigûr's former holdings in the Karnegmoth region. Perhaps the most valuable resource in these experiments of Creation was the ancient tome Maurgîn-Hîr. With this tome, and after nearly three centuries of experimentation, Bue'kaa's scientists created the Elderaunt race.
In the year 1619 HE, the Hydrocur were driven from Athoreon by a series of Elderaunts uprisings. Consequently, they migrated northward to the undersea regions of the Buccaneer Archipelago. There, they constructed secretive strongholds, continuing their experiments on captives. During the First Epoch, they engineered the Deep Bred.
The Hydrocur have demonstrated a tendency to rely on others to carry out their battles. Initially, they employed the elderaunts, aiming to establish a ground force to reclaim the former Karnegmoth territories of Abâthigûr. Subsequently, they created the Deep Bred as a potential means to exert control over the entirety of the Buccaneer Archipelago. However, in both instances, they ended up generating races that were too intelligent, autonomous, and unwilling to serve as subordinates. Perhaps their persistent failure lies in the absence of indoctrinating their subjects through faith-based measures.
