The Aquan Codex, or Aqan Codices, is an early historical record of the Hydrocur and the tribal origins of the Elderaunts. The work consists of five tomes that make up the Aquan Codices. The chronicles were started by a Hydrocur named Globothin and completed by an Elderaunt named Ukhan. The first codex commences with the fall of Abâthigûr and the upheaval that followed. It details the Sussgurd rebellion across Necrocrypt and their subsequent expulsion from the island by hordes of Sussgurd undead. The texts also recount the Hydrocur's efforts to salvage as much loot, literature, and other items as they could carry aboard their aquatic vessels.

The second codex provides an account of Hydrocur experimentation on the humanoids captured within Athoreon's interior. It chronicles the creation of Elderaunts by Hydrocur scientists, the subsequent rebellion, and the eventual retreat of the Hydrocur to safer regions. The third, fourth, and fifth codices adopt a more gentle tone, written by an Elderaunt historian named Ukhan. These writings discuss the Elderaunt tribes and prominent figures. A significant portion of the fourth codex explores the Elderaunts' search for the meaning of their existence, given their laboratory origins. This codex has a personal touch and is generally perceived as more opinion-based than a historical record.
