Aquan

Aquan evolved from a proto-elemental language, which served as the precursor to all elemental tongues. Much of its lexicon is devoted to water-related terminology.[2] It is a guttural language characterized by numerous extended syllables composed of dense, throaty sounds.[1] Consequently, place names such as Bue'kaa and Kol'taa are approximations of Aquan words that only truly resonate when spoken beneath the waves.

The Aquan language is spoken by the Water Archon, the Hydrocur, the Elderaunt, the Deep Bred, the Merfolk, the Sea Elf, and numerous other sentient aquatic species.

As a language of the seas, Aquan effortlessly traverses the watery realms. Mastering the language, however, requires dedicated practice and study to grasp its dual modes of communication - one optimized for land, the other tailored for the aquatic environment.

Aquan commonly serves as a secondary tongue for those dwelling in coastal communities situated near aquatic civilizations.
