Abyssal is the language employed by the demons of the Abyss, as well as the Gimrune, Shi'gah, Maleraunts, Sig-Lorm, and other entities that have spent an extensive period among the demons.

The descendants of those who toiled under the rule of Zuggtmoy during the Demon Spawn War, the fomorians, also possess knowledge of Abyssal. Additionally, the majority of trolls, excluding the war trolls, converse in Abyssal as well.
