In the central era of the First Epoch, the Hydrocur commenced coastal incursions and assaulting vessels navigating the Buccaneer Archipelago. Female Tragarans, Khazarkars, and other races were abducted. At that time, the purpose behind the Hydrocur's capture of these women remained largely obscure. The Hydrocur struck swiftly and stealthily, subduing any opposition, killing only when absolutely essential, then carried their female captives beneath the waves.
Around 1055, reports emerged of half-breed humanoids inhabiting the islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago. Entire settlements of these enigmatic beings were said to exist, with many engaging in piracy and coastal plundering along the shores of Brucrumus, Straiden, and Karterus.
Today, the Deep Bred can be found in a majority, if not the entirety, of the domains within the Buccaneer Archipelago. The Deep Bred are highly coveted by pirate factions due to their exceptional capability to maneuver with proficiency both on land and in the aquatic environment.
Deep Bred are part humanoid and part amphibious creatures. They can be of any humanoid lineage and are typically encountered in regions surrounding the Sea of Mourning and the Pearl Sea. These beings are equally at home on land and in the water. They possess an inherent affinity for the seas, leading to their scarce presence far inland. Notable physical traits include gills behind their ears or along their necks, webbing between their toes and fingers, and scattered scales across their bodies. The extent of webbing varies by individual, with some demonstrating greater swimming proficiency. Their skin tone and build reflect the characteristics of their humanoid ancestry, though they generally exhibit a more lithe, muscular, and slender physique. Certain Deep Bred possess large, unforgiving shark-like eyes.
