For a period during the Creation War, the fjord Thor Har was utilized as a primordial outpost by forces commanded by a storm titan named Thjorygg. Covenant battle strategists designated it Selûn; the Supernal term for "serpent".
In the Horgon Era, the Hydrocur controlled this area, Ginnoth and the islands around it. They swam up the Mêzel, or along the northern coasts of Straiden, searching and raiding the interior for subjects. These unfortunate victims, along with Durkoth technology, resulted in the Elderaunt race. They were intended to serve as slave soldiers, much like how the Hydrocur were enforcers for the Durkoth; the Elderaunts were meant to be enforcers for the Hydrocur. Under the Hydrocur, Elderaunt slave armies were deployed far and wide to assault Râpha-Sûn and other former Abâthigûr territories.
The Hydrocur encountered challenges in managing their fabrications.

Elderaunts deserted in considerable numbers, at times even turning against their Hydrocur masters during the heat of battle. Those who evaded the Hydrocur's yoke ventured into the interior of Izagunbar. The more resilient ones, aspiring to liberate the remainder of their people, constructed a stronghold atop a bluff overlooking Ginnoth. They christened this outpost Selûn, reportedly the name of an elderaunt who attempted to rally the populace of Tadâph against the Hydrocur.
After the defeat of the Hydrocur, Selûn became the stronghold of the Alukhan. This tribe and the Duraigosâns engaged in constant conflict with one another. The Duraigosâns coveted Selûn as it had once served as the epicenter of Hydrocur resistance. It was a site of immense historical significance and pride for all elderaunts, and dominion over it would elevate the ruling tribe above the others. In 341, the Duraigosâns and their allies captured the town and nearly eradicated the entire Alukhan tribe.
Selûn is situated on a high cliff peninsula overlooking Ginnoth. The residents of the city, predominantly elderaunts and giff, have terraced the granite slopes of the surrounding peninsula. The eastern side of the city slopes down into Thor Har, a canyon that serves as the city's harbor. The white and gray granite was used to construct the docks and harbor. The city's docks are so expansive that they can accommodate the entire merchant and naval fleet of Ivory Asylum. The thick, sloped, and earth-protected walls of Selûn, which are virtually cannon-proof, are bleached white and support numerous small to colossal granite structures shaped like tusks. Some of these tusks function as defensive towers. The city's deep blue banners, emblazoned with a vibrant image of a sail, flutter above these great walls and tusk structures. Brightly colored house banners also flutter over the interior dwellings of this grandiose city.
The people of Selûn are a proud and storied people, with a rich legacy of naval exploration and martial prowess. The city's eastern docks, most notably the Garrot Ward, constitute a rugged area known as a hub for black market activities, guild conflicts, and criminal enterprises. In times of great need, the highly skilled rogues, assassins, and specialists from this hardy populace are enlisted by the Swarvan Department.
Southwest of the city, as far as the eye can see, lie expansive farms cultivating wheat, grapes, and olives.
