In the Horgon Era, the Durkoth empire of Abâthigûr dispatched colonists to the Karnegmoth region. Discovering unclaimed land and signs of abundant resources within the interior, they founded the settlement of Râpha-Sûn.
Râpha-Sûn served as the commercial and administrative epicenter for Abâthigûr's western colonies. It blossomed into a highly prosperous and significant settlement. It had access to resources lacking on the isles of Necrocrypt. The two primary exports to the empire's heartland were the hardwoods essential for shipbuilding, as well as copper. The latter originated from the extensive mines burrowing through the Imsogrek mountains. The wood was harvested from Holentur and the now-vanished forest of Tîlû.
During the Durkoth Descent, which spanned from 995 HE to 1355 HE, the city endured a period of civil unrest as its governing authorities relinquished the surface world in favor of the ocean depths. In the ensuing conflict, the Sussgurd battled the Hydrocur for control of the city and their own freedom. Ultimately, in 1000 HE, the Sussgurd emerged victorious, seizing control of the contested urban center.
During the Holentur War (210 - 222), Râpha-Sûn engaged in conflict with their neighboring realm of Ethenoran over a section of Holentur's adamantine-rich hills.
In 338, the rival city-state of Liope seized control of Râpha-Sûn. Two years afterwards, the Tinnanguth empire was established, with Râpha-Sûn becoming one of its territories.
Over the ensuing five centuries, this port city flourished, prospering to become the epicenter of Tinnanguth scientific and arcane scholarship. During this period, the city's groundbreaking progress in medicine and alchemy far surpassed the accomplishments of any other realm. Ultimately, the city was abandoned and fell into decay when the Tinnanguth were vanquished by their former slaves in the Dao Insurrection.
The expansion of the Brownlands resulted in the covering of a significant portion of the city. The ruins are now situated several miles inland from Whalebin bay. Ebethords Crawler lies partially interred within these ruins.
