In the First Epoch, Râpha-Sûn aggressively expanded into the Imsogrek mountains, pursuing copper veins and seeking adamantine within the borders of Holentur. To assert control over this region, the city of Liope was founded. Liope grew rapidly during the Holentur War, becoming a critical base of operations against the Ethenoran confederacy. Situated at the confluence of roads and the challenging but navigable Antal River, which provided a vital artery for communication and supplies to Râpha-Sûn, Liope rose to prominence amidst the conflict. After the war, Liope's access to Holentur's adamantine and Imsogrek's copper transformed it into a commercial powerhouse, rivaling other centers of trade.
The city of Liope was seized by Râpha-Sûn in 340. Along with dozens of smaller settlements, these two urban centers were incorporated into the nascent empire of Tinnanguth.
In the Dao Insurrection, the city of Liope was devastated by the violent uprising of Tinnanguth's enslaved subjects.
Liope rests at the source of the Antal river. The ruins are flanked by the peaks of Imsogrek. Numerous mammoth caverns were constructed into these towering mountains. In these locales, the Tinnanguth established an expansive shipyard and docking facilities. These were excavated by enslaved dao and subsequently inundated with waters from the nearby river. The hulks of a dozen siege crabs remain moored at these docks.
Unfortunately, the secret undertaking failed to come to fruition as the Tinnanguth experienced a slave rebellion in which they were annihilated and their domain overrun by hordes of Dao.
