In the Creation War ( 1486 DE - 8777 DE ) , the fortress of Rîni posed a significant threat to Poseidon's undersea forces operating in the Salzârrâk. To counter this, he dedicated immense resources to constructing a dam that would obstruct the two major bays in the area: the Phedumarras and the Nebezedel.
What shall we do about Poseidon's Dam?
We shall permit him to persist in pouring resources into it, perhaps he will conclude the endeavor by the cessation of hostilities.
Poseidon and his army of sea titans completed the dam a century before the conclusion of the war, yet by then the surrounding regions had fallen under the control of his adversaries. Undeterred, he steadfastly continued to work on the project, long after military operations had shifted to other parts of the realm. The dam's construction resulted in the two bays losing half their water, stranding vessels and rendering Rîninub untenable for its defenders. Following the wall's completion and the reduction of Rîninub to rubble, Poseidon's army found itself encircled on all sides by the angelic legions of the Nawirrûs Covenant. When he and his sea titan army failed to break the cordon, Poseidon abandoned them. This decision would exact a heavy toll later, as many of their descendants refused to pay him reverence when he attained divinity.
