The Nawirrûs Covenant, the Defenders of Creation, was an alliance that endeavored to preserve the works of Creation in their entirety. These works encompassed the creation of new worlds and all that they contained, including plants, forests, seas, subterranean realms, and the diverse species and races meant to inhabit them.

The origins of the alliance are obscure, with groups uniting on distant worlds to confront the primordials and their desire to undo Creation. These conflicts, scattered across the Nawirrûs System, became known as the Creation War ( 1486 DE - 8777 DE ) , a protracted struggle between those seeking to preserve the works of Creation and those aiming to undo them. As the war dragged on, communication and collaborative efforts were eventually established across numerous worlds, coalescing rebel-like units into a unified fighting force called the Nawirrûs Covenant, the defenders of Creation.

The Creation War culminated in a decisive Covenant triumph. It thwarted the Primordials' efforts to unravel the fabric of Creation. The majority of the Primordials and Primordial Lords were driven back to the Chaos realm, while others were imprisoned on various worlds, and some were annihilated altogether. The Covenant's approach to handling the Primordials evolved over the course of the conflict, with certain factions adopting drastically divergent perspectives and methodologies in dealing with their adversaries.

The yearning of some to annihilate the adversary, and those advocating imprisonment and clemency gave rise to another enduring state, where the Law now resides within one's psyche, firmly entrenching their convictions in a specific alignment. In the primordial era, it was merely Law and Chaos, but now there is Good, Evil, and those who remain undecided.

The Nawirrûs Covenant contained numerous directives that members were obligated to observe. These guidelines were established to restrict potential power seizures. One such directive prohibited individuals from asserting sovereignty over a world as their personal domain.

Many of the figures of the Nawirrûs Covenant would confront conflict once more in the subsequent age, the God Era. They would combat the fiends in the Demon Spawn War as the Quara'tun Covenant, spanning from 89 GE to 269 GE.
