The Nielalroch strait is bordered to the north by the Edhelviel ocean and to the south by the Mephigax ocean. To the west lies the continent of Gorejun, while Brucrumus is situated to the east. The eastern regions of this sea encompass the Great Expanse, High Wood Country, the Clans, and the Troll Bogs. One of the most enigmatic islands within Nielalroch is Arcana.
In the Dawn Era, the creationist Sathel crafted the undersea regions of this strait as well as numerous other oceanic areas across Bal-Kriav. She bestowed Elven monikers upon many of the world's oceans, a tribute to the Sea Elves whom she had also fashioned.
In 1827, Spirachiln completed construction of a magical portal known as Emancer's Teleporter. This gateway, together with the Sea Tunnel, precipitated a surge in naval activity, trade, piracy, and military operations across Nielalroch. The commercial prosperity enabled by the Sea Tunnel and Emancer's Teleporter has rendered Spirachiln immensely affluent and a source of envy in the region.
The most prevalent flags on this sea belong to the countries of Ivory Asylum, Malacost, Grimmarsveinn, Nordern, and Spirachiln.
Beneath the waves of Nielalroch lie several undersea city-states and a handful of empires. The venerable empire of Caradruk, home to the tritons, ranks among the oldest and most expansive of Nielalroch's undersea dominions.
In 1829, the Nordern completed a deep, yet short-lived channel between the Bog Sea and Nielalroch. This allowed them to relocate two of their submersible coral cities from the Bog Sea into the Ten Seas. These alien cities, which float upon or beneath the waves, are the safest harbors of the Mephigax. It is only within these unique locales that a vessel has any hope of weathering Mephigax's terrific storms, which can generate swells exceeding two hundred feet in height.
