This expansive island is situated at the convergence of the Mephigax and Nielalroch oceans. Its nomenclature derives from the revered goddess of sorcery, Arcana.
The Isle of Arcana is replete with legends of untold riches and ancient magic. The majority of this mystical power is believed to reside within the deep labyrinths of the island's Lith-Crillion ruins. These tales hold truth, as during the Creation War, Arcana, then an Archangel, oversaw operations on this isle. Within the Gulvar Reif mountains, Arcana's angelic enchanters crafted magical armaments for the armies of the Nawirrûs Covenant.
Towards the conclusion of the God Era, the Lith-Crillion learned of Arcana's secret vaults. In 1 LE, of an era named after them, they arrived in search of these forgotten relics. Rather than returning to the Crillion Comet on the next passing, they remained on this island. The Lith-Crillion expanded outward from Arcana, dispatching research teams across the world, and some argue they became overly involved with those they were meant to be studying.
Late in the Lith-Crillion Era, the magic-rich settlements of the Lith-Crillion succumbed to Thraedli raiders; the Thraedli are frequently regarded as an even more prolific collector of magic and ancient knowledge than the Lith-Crillion.
Arcana is a formidable island to reach by sea. Perilous reefs, remnants of the Creation War, were once cultivated to deter Primordial amphibious assaults. Treacherous waterspouts, unpredictable weather, and a perpetual shroud of fog three miles from the coasts pose additional hazards. Beyond these, hostile leviathans of the deep, such as whales, sea giants, and colossal squids, threaten any vessel that approaches or lingers too long. Piercing this gauntlet of beasts and treacherous waters leads to a wild, mystical island with its own perils. The most formidable of these potential adversaries include cyclopes, storm giants, rocs, Thraedli plunderers, and a colony of titans.
