Angvild is an otherworldly isle of Morwuld Briin. During the First Epoch, within the ruins of Zôd'vîrmâb, tomes were discovered that shed light on the island's origins and purpose.
The island appears to be in a state of disequilibrium with its surroundings, exhibiting unnatural rock formations, mountain lakes with dense, liquid bottoms, and ancient, primordial ruins of a distinctly alien design, scattered across the landscape. The core of the island appears to have been rent asunder, likely through the efforts of primordial entities. Creatures that could only have emerged from the realm of Chaos roam this anomalous island.
Belzarûn Indar, Lith-Crillion Researcher of Sâlo Tânê 38, journal entry - "Angvild Investigation"
Records far more ancient than the Lith-Crillion, the campaign journals of a fabled primordial strategist named Warvild, state that Angvild was once a fragment of the Sea of Entropy. During the Creation War ( 1486 DE - 8777 DE ) , Warvild transformed Angvild into a ferry, a one-way passage between the realm of the primordials, the Sea of Entropy, and the world of Bal-Kriav.
In 8602 DE, the floating island emerged from Chaos, ferrying a Primordial army. The primordials Geb, Talos, and Surtur were responsible for this endeavor. Warvild conceived a plan to utilize this island of entropic matter, an earth mote unimpeded by its immense size, to float across the seas of Bal-Kriav. The island would serve as a formidable naval base and ferry for invasions, threatening coastal areas and controlling the sea lanes.
As destiny had it, the island did not travel far. After emerging from a brief rift, it became firmly grounded against an undersea mountain. Only Poseidon could have dislodged it. Fortunately for the Covenant, Poseidon desired to be on the victorious side.
Biraz-Felab, from a Scroll of Dawn - "The Mighty Gravitational Force"
The Year 66 witnessed the establishment of the Gimrune settlement in the region of Angvild.
Today's Angvild is considerably smaller than it was during the Creation War. A portion has been severed from it, the floating landmass of Krarkauk, now situated far away across the Ice Cap. Additionally, two smaller islands have broken off. The first separation gave rise to the isle of Torvild, which occurred an age later, in the Horgon Era. The island of Wynvild subsequently broke free. The channels between these islands are known as Warvild's Fingers. These shallow areas are littered with rocky spires, half-submerged shipwrecks, and the lairs of harpies and denizens of the deep.
