Poseidon, the Sea Titan, or Istishia to some, is a Primordial. He is the progeny of Chronos and Rhea. According to one legend, Chronos ingested Poseidon and his eleven sibling Titans. It is claimed Chronos committed this act due to a premonition they would depose him. Somehow the sons and daughters evaded capture, and eventually Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon vanquished their father.

Before the start of the Creation War ( 1486 DE ) , Poseidon possessed the formidable abilities of a Tier 3 Creationist. Endowed with these powers by Bruh Kreniik, Poseidon crafted the inaugural Merfolk ( 1340 DE ) and colossal beings more adept in the oceans than upon the terrestrial realm.

Based on the occurrences at Graer and other locales, Poseidon appears to have been held in low regard by his subordinates. It is reported that he harbored envy towards the ascending primordial lords; Thjorygg and Surtur displayed their hand through their inadequate attempts to halt the Graer breach.

In the waning years of the Creation War, the primordials began to retreat into the Chaos. Poseidon concealed himself in the furthest depths of Bal-Kriav, mastering the art of evasion to the extent that the gods and their celestial hosts could not locate him. When the realms were surrendered to mortal stewardship, Poseidon and a few of his kindred remained in the mortal domain. It is unclear whether Poseidon's abode is upon Bal-Kriav or if he merely makes occasional visits.

Some of the largest devotees of Poseidon reside in the seas and oceans. Merfolk comprise one of the largest racial groups that revere him. When the Merfolk of the Buccaneer Archipelago were besieged by the Durkoth, Poseidon took matters into his own hands, defying the Mandate of the Heavens, and personally intervened in mortal affairs. The Sea Titan shattered the island of Ghol Markúl with a hundred sonic blasts. Poseidon is purported to have stated regarding the Sundering of Ghol Markúl :

It was not I who destroyed Ghol Markúl, but the unbridled rage of one hundred whales. The heretical inhabitants of the island, impious wretches, were adversaries of the seas and its denizens, amassing more bounty than they could ever utilize, and subjugating the surrounding peoples. Thus, the whales returned the region to an era predating the Durkoth, and reestablished a measure of equilibrium within your domain.

Late in the Horgon Era, in what became known as the Sinking of Hleirim (4 Witchrite 1890 HE), Poseidon once more disregarded the Mandate of the Heavens. Incensed by the loss of temples to the lackeys of Talos, he submerged a portion of the Arskels. This resulted in the inundation and decimation of the storm giant city of Hleirim, as well as the formation of the bay of Klo'nah Lomok.

In the Sea Devil War ( 1315 - 1317 ) , the fury of Poseidon was forcefully experienced by the inhabitants of Paradomea City. As a consequence of their destruction of Limac-Nîr and the slaying of thousands of Poseidon's devotees, the Sea Titan unleashed a colossal tidal wave that claimed the lives of tens of thousands of Paradomeans.

One of his most renowned offspring is Triton, son of Poseidon and another primordial named Amphitrite. Triton's progeny from his expansive Merfolk harem led to the emergence of the first tritons. Presently, numerous tritons revere Poseidon, which appears peculiar given that during the Creation War, many opposed him.

Poseidon frequently disregards the sacred tenets of The Balance, having lent more assistance to mortals than any other deity. He serves as the patron divinity to both terrestrial and aquatic lifeforms. Seafarers and coastal dwellers regularly invoke his name, imploring him for favorable conditions and safe ocean voyages. As an ancient primordial being, Poseidon remains viewed with uncertainty by the Higher Powers that survived the Creation War.
