Paradomea City is one of the larger settlements within the world of Bal-Kriav. During the reign of Kal-Oni (1016 - 1266), the area began as a small fishing village known as Paradomea. The nearby Vorshym bay was then teeming with marine life, providing the nascent empire with a plentiful supply of fish, mollusks, and a diverse array of pearls.

In 1260, Paradomea seceded from Kal-Oni rule, igniting the Kal-Oni War (1260 - 1266). Paradomea's merchant lords, together with two foreign allies, formed the Gwaeldior Alliance, aiming to catalyze change in the Kal-Oni reign.

In the year 1266, the Kal-Oni empire collapsed, and as a result, Paradomea officially transitioned into an independent city-state. Paradomea swiftly mended the devastation of war and revitalized its economy, as well as those of other former Kal-Oni territories.

As Paradomea's sway, affluence, and might amplified, governance became more centralized, with authority gradually transitioning from the Merchant League to the Council of Nine. Upon the establishment of the Paradomean empire, the city bearing its name came to be known as Paradomea City, though some still refer to it simply as Paradomea.

In 1315, driven by the Drums of Horgon, the entire populace of Limac-Nîr engages in war with Paradomea City. During the final year of this Sea Devil War (1315 - 1317), after destroying the source of the attacks, Paradomea City is struck by a devastating tidal wave, drowning nearly 150,000 individuals.

Paradomea maintains the Githlarâk as its principal garrison. The metropolis possesses a specialized law enforcement unit, comprising the dreaded Doom Squads.

The city is renowned for its shipyards, massive freighter docks, and the magnificent sky docks catering to aerial and voidships. The city also serves as a haven for countless guilds and enterprises. As one of the realm's most prosperous nations, it draws numerous thieving guilds and criminal elements. The city's legislation largely reflects a commercial focus, with the merchants maintaining a dominant voice in the political landscape.

The city can be an exceedingly perilous place to inhabit, as physical confrontations frequently occur among the malevolent residents of the area, with mages unleashing fireballs upon individuals and structures alike. Occasionally, a fugitive extraterrestrial entity will run amok, subjecting the city's inhabitants to a reign of terror.

Crime is widespread throughout the urban center, and substance abuse is prevalent among the residents with Maniac Conduit, Wax of Enlightenment, and Ragnorak being the most commonly misused.

Paradomea City is structured in quadrants, with each quadrant encompassing four sections, all governed by various groups. These groups are incentivized to compete with other quadrants, contributing to the overall prosperity of the city. Beneath Paradomea City lies Undercity, a significant trading hub between Paradomea and the subterranean populations of Drarthiel.
