Built by Durkoth enchanters of the fallen Horgon Empire, these drums were crafted to stir the spirit for battle. Though employed a handful of times with varying outcomes, most concurred it was a formidable instrument, one utilized in extreme circumstances, for transforming the entire populace, from women and children to men, into a war-crazed throng can prove more perilous than surrender.

In 1315, deep within the recesses of Limac-Nîr, the Drums of Horgon were discovered by a band of sahuagin explorers. Surrounded by ancient vault doors, they uncovered the prophesied shrine of war. Some claim they were barbarians who, without caution, beat the great drums, while others say they were zealous followers of Ares, driven to incite conflict. The resounding of the Drums of Horgon echoed far out across the sea. All sentient creatures who heard the drum's beat felt a compulsion, eventually succumbing to the war frenzy. Continuing unabated, few could resist the call to arms. For the sahuagin population of Limac-Nîr, males, females, and even children, took to the warpath, assaulting ships and besieging the great harbors and fortifications of Paradomea City.
