Dargirth bisects Paradomea City. To contain the flooding and formidable currents of this river, the city's engineers constructed the Bala-Rog Causeway. The causeway is broad and features numerous channels entering the city. It also offers an inner harbor for river and maritime vessels. The causeway's yellow and green striated marble walls are intricately carved with depictions of sea creatures, buccaneers, ships, and water elementals. During periods of severe flooding, force walls are erected along known flood points.
Five immense water elementals ensure the channels remain unencumbered by refuse and detritus amassed by the city's sizable populace. These formidable entities also diligently survey the waterways for any potential threats.
The Bala-Rog Causeway is traversed by numerous bridges. Those spanning the main thoroughfare leading to the Sea of Mourning tower high above the masts of passing vessels. These bridges are supported by imposing guard towers.
