Late in the Second Epoch, the Orchish Empire laid claim to lands adjacent to Quellestir. This evergreen vale had long been the dwelling of the Forstneblin. In 1494, despite ardent objections from their neighbors, the High Command ordered the resettlement of an ancient frost giant hold known as Hrornskar. Centuries of low-level conflict ensued, culminating in the bloodiest period during the Core Offensive (1749 - 1760).
Balanosa's Navel is a vast labyrinth situated a thousand feet beneath the sprawling Quellestir Forest. Constructed by the industrious Forstneblin, this subterranean complex served as a strategic base for those engaged in the Core Offensive against the Orchish Empire.
Balanosa's Navel was named after a particularly vicious Forstneblin vampire known as Balanosa. For three decades, a period of great blood orgies, she commanded the vampires of As'lith Zybis. Wicked and brutal, Balanosa repeatedly disregarded Kezgihr's Fifth Rule of Survival. Deemed feral by the leadership, she was transported back to Drachlaz, where she remains imprisoned.
Steer clear of confrontation with your own kind. Subsist on those that the populace disdains or belittles.
