Hrornskar originated as a temple consecrated to Thyrm. Situated proximate to Adrglof, a venerated location of Thyrm, Hrornskar expanded from the influx of pilgrims requiring lodging, companionship, sustenance, and potent libations.
As tensions escalated with the fiery denizens of Hofthorm (145 HE - 101), the Temple of Hrornskar evolved into a formidable citadel, serving as the epicenter of Thyrm's Ice Cap Sect and eventually becoming the capital of the Glangveif Monarchy.
The fall of the Glangveif Monarchy (314 HE - 31) ushered in an era of desolation, as the conquerors worked to depopulate the former capital. The once vibrant city became a haven for beasts, monsters, and brigands.
In 1494, the Orchish Empire commenced the reconstruction of Glangveif's venerable capital, transforming it into the linchpin of a defensive posture aimed at three potential adversaries: the Khazarkar Empire from the northeast, Forstneblin raiders hailing from Quellestir, and occasional Jara war parties from beyond the Arinthil Forest.
In the Core Offensive (1749 - 1760), a canal was constructed from Lake Virgath to the Mazgob swamp. A supply depot and billeting for numerous workers were established, transforming Hrornskar into a crucial lake port. Today, it remains an even busier port for ships destined for the Core Sea.
