On the 11th of Lunar in 6891 DE, in a secluded region of the bitter expanses of Fimbulwinter, a formidable frost giant is born to a former concubine of Piranoth. The child is christened Thyrm by his mother.

Thyrm is a Primordial. In the Creation War, he fought with the primordial armies that invaded Bal-Kriav. During this conflict, Thyrm was constantly scheming and plotting, causing significant disruptions to the primordial plans for the conquest of Bal-Kriav. Tired of Thyrm's disruptive machinations, a few of the primordials decided to remove him from the conflict. Surtur tricked him into leading the attack on Regadnîn, where he was captured at the Second Battle of Regadnîn. In return for his freedom, the Golden Seven made a deal with him to close an Entropy Arch, and then they banished him from the realm for a millennium. The icy barrier that Thyrm created over the Entropy Arch is an area called Tâchan.

In the Second Battle of Regadnîn, we apprehended Thyrm. After a lengthy interrogation by Ares and Ditherra, Thyrm disclosed the location of an Entropy Arch that was on the verge of activating. We journeyed with Thyrm to the gateway and then had him seal it using his cryogenic abilities. As recompense for Thyrm's cooperation, we spared his life but exiled him for a millennium. Thyrm accepted these terms, departing with the ominous warning - "I shall have my vengeance, and you shall experience a frigidity beyond your wildest imaginings".

Thyrm's treacherous act against the primordials rendered him a hunted entity. We exiled him to the distant reaches of the void, thereby granting him a reasonable opportunity to evade his primordial foes.

Athena, from a Plaque of Aphalur - "Thyrm's Treachery"

In the Demon Spawn War, Thyrm returned to the Bal-Kriav. He demonstrated that he no longer adhered to the whims of the Creation War primordials by assisting the Quarat'un Covenant. At the head of the Moredhel valley, he froze the seawaters rushing through a rift connecting Bal-Kriav to an abyssal world, creating the renowned Fihrgrell Cap.

Cari'phis, the wife of Thyrm, met a fateful end when Ares "accidentally" cast her into the Cube of Arcane, sparking an eternal enmity between the two.

In the Lith-Crillion Era, Thyrm's Concubine General led an army from Fimbulwinter. They traversed through a blizzard-like vortex that had been created with a cluster of null mines. They passed through a temporary rift to Bal-Kriav, arriving in the continent Elemantum where they commenced the subjugation of the local populace and seizure of the surrounding territories. For three centuries, a significant portion of Elemantum fell under the dominion of Crybhox and her ice troll army. During this period, Thyrm's influence (facilitated by Crybhox) increased on Bal-Kriav to the extent that on 6 Hollow 221 LE, he attained the status of a Demigod. This event coincided with a blizzard that gripped the lands of Elemantum for a week, while the frozen realm of Fimbulwinter experienced a continuous year-long blizzard.

Thyrm is primarily revered by frost giants, Thrallrir, and those who worship the raw power of the cold. His greatest adversary is the deity Surtur. On Bal-Kriav, their underlings wage a momentous conflict across Elemantum's southern territories, pitting the fiery minions of Cinderfall against the icy legions of Artaxertus.

Temples dedicated to Thyrm are constructed in mountainous regions, proximate to glacial wildernesses, and other frigid locales. Epochs of intense cold are occasionally designated in honor of this deity. The ice age known as Thyrm's Breath and the bitterly cold year of 1796, referred to as Thyrm's Cough, are two such examples.

Thyrm is the preeminent force of Fimbulwinter. In this realm, he must grapple with primordials spilling forth from Chaos, as well as the sporadic incursions of Demons traversing rifts to the numerous worlds of the Abyss.
