Silfergath

Silfergath ... creating his own prison
Category primordials
Type dreadnought xixecal

Silfergath was the inaugural and most eminent xixecal ever brought into existence. He was fashioned by Thyrm and a coterie of primal ice lords. Silfergath was designed to function as a living war apparatus. His physique emanated profound frigidity and perilous wintry circumstances for a century of miles in all orientations. Those who ventured within a pair of miles of him, and lacked immunity to the cold, risked being transformed into solid ice.

When he was fashioned from the primordial Chaos, his creators elected that he would be crafted dim-witted and thus readily manageable. This determination ultimately precipitated difficulties within the Primordial armies, as he would occasionally immobilize hundreds of allied combatants. Silfergath necessitated perpetual supervision, lest he meander about and jeopardize friendly forces.

In the Creation War, Silfergath entered this realm through the Piranoth Cyst. Deemed too great a threat to friendly forces, Thyrm commanded him to travel northward, destroying any angels, deities, or structures he encountered. The ever-present blizzard surrounding Silfergath made him easily trackable. However, Thyrm, Silfergath's controller, was unable to catch up and redirect his movements, having been captured during the Second Battle of Regadnîn. Silfergath continued northward until reaching the Pearl Sea, where he walked into the ocean and became entombed in a rapidly expanding block of ice.

After the Creation War, the forces of the Nawirrûs Covenant had him relocated to the Prison Continent, now more commonly referred to as Denerra.

As we traversed the stunning oceans and landscapes below, Silfergath gradually began to thaw. I then instructed my majestic rocs to release their cargo into the nearest ocean or deep lake, reinforcing the ice surrounding him. Upon arriving at Dulpathâra, the cargo was deposited into a deep mountain lake, where Silfergath would remain encased in his icy prison for all time.

Silvanus, originating from a Scroll of Dawn - "Transporting Silfergath"

In the Lith-Crillion Era, some eldritch giants of the Thraedli family embarked on an arduous trek to Denerra. Their intent was to locate and release a primordial being. Atop a mountain valley, they encountered a deep lake with peculiar characteristics, such as its shimmering surface and a chill bordering on freezing, despite the middle of summer. This led them to further investigate the lake, where they discovered the bottom was entirely frozen. Knowledgeable about the events of the Creation War, the Thraedli surmised that this icy prison likely held a primordial entity, though they were unsure of which one. They decided to take a chance and drain the lake, but were met with powerful guardians and magical traps that killed dozens of giants. After successfully draining the lake, the ice at the bottom began to melt, and Silfergath broke free from the thawing ice. His bitterly cold body then froze all those around him. Silfergath then marched onward, not knowing which direction, recalling only his last orders from Thrym, who had pointed in a direction and commanded him to "Go that way, destroy our enemies and all that they have built!" Silfergath traversed the mountains and reached the coasts of Dulpathâra, continuing into Nautrek, where he was once more entombed in a rapidly expanding block of ice that slid into the depths, slowly transforming the area into an arctic sea.
