Cinderfall was established in Year 755. This came on the heels of a decade-long war between three fiery city-states - Glothreth, Slagrlod, and Volmgeir. The Three Flames War concluded with Glothreth's subjugation of its rivals. Since Cinderfall's founding, it has been ruled by a fire giant emperor. This leader serves as a mere figurehead, with guilds and other influential bodies holding the real power. Like Cinderfall's rival Artaxertus, the actions of the empire's leaders and government are heavily influenced by a legendary throne. The one in the empire's capital city Glothreth is known as the Pumice Throne.
Cinderfall Law is regarded as exceptionally stringent, with penalties encompassing immersion in frigid waters, castration, or dismemberment. The majority of the empire's ardent races trace their lineage to those who traversed the Glothreth Rift, an interdimensional bridge connecting the realms of Bal-Kriav and Muspelheim.
The empire's Gradorian, deeply immersed in the realms of banking, law, and academia, are the descendants of the once-formidable Mir'piamauza Empire.
Cinderfall society is structured around 80 to 100 guild houses, each representing a distinct domain ranging from alchemy to zoology. The vast majority of citizens are affiliated with or active members of these guild houses. When not directly aiding the ongoing Thrones War ( 751 - present) , these guilds engage in a continuous power struggle, vying for dominance within the governmental hierarchy. This dynamic often involves underhanded tactics, including conspiring, assassinating, or overtly assaulting rival factions.
The sole deity revered in this empire is Surtur. This monotheistic faith stems from a longstanding pact between Anube and Surtur, wherein she employs his legions in her cosmic conflict with her sibling, and Surtur in turn secures another foothold on Bal-Kriav, accruing greater divine power with each new adherent.
In 1829, a significant portion of Nautrek became frozen, establishing a land-bridge between Elemantum and Brucrumus. Concurrently, a rupture in the Elemantum Boundary Ward permitted a Cinderfall army to cross the land-bridge and arrive on the shores of Brucrumus. The following year, they engaged in the Cinazan Front, fighting alongside the Horde of Chaos and other allies of the Flux Pact.
