The Pumice Throne is a formidable relic harboring the essence of the Nithian archmage Anube. This former wizard-governor of Tamlêrran engaged in a protracted conflict with her step-brother Igacin for dominion over southwestern Magrâbik. Realizing her brother was constructing a potent artifact to summon aid from a distant realm, she undertook a similar endeavor.
Anube powered up her artifact with a Sphere of Arcane. She obtained this potent magical item with the assistance of Surtur. He briefly provided her a cutting tool to extract one from the Cube of Arcane. This act of divine aid to a mortal resulted in Surtur being censured by The Balance. The censure prevented Surtur from gaining any further influence throughout Elemantum.
Nearing the limits of their mortal existence, and determined to perpetuate their game, Anube made the ultimate sacrifice by transferring their psyche into their artifact thrones. Following this transfer, the artifact became sentient. Now ensconced within the Pumice Throne, Anube unleashed its power, creating the Glothreth Rift, a one-way rift between the realms of Muspelheim and Bal-Kriav. The Thrones War ( 751 - present) soon commenced thereafter.
The Pumice Throne is crafted from Tolm. It is an unyielding fixture within the cavernous depths of the grand city Glothreth. The sovereign of this metropolis, Cinderfall, is predominantly influenced by Anube, the sentient entity dwelling within this throne.
