Muspelheim is one of the four Elemental Ring Worlds situated at the edge of Chaos. The realm was brought into existence on 9 Witchrite 515 DE by a primordial creationist named Storrralk.
On 30 Saunas 1628 DE of the Creation War, Muspelheim was reclaimed by a trio of primordial lords, Baltalas, Surtur, and Kossuth. After vanquishing the Covenant occupiers, they began to dismantle the specialized magical wards. These defenses, implemented by the Covenant, had prevented Muspelheim from again becoming an extension of Chaos, a concentration point for entropic energy. With the wards removed, Muspelheim resumed its trajectory towards being a focal point for the elemental energies of Fire and Air.
In the God Era, Surtur attacked Muspelheim with his fiery legions. As an unlikely ally of the Covenant, Surtur was tasked with severing its connection to the energies of Chaos and steering it towards Negative Entropy. The realm was then ruled by his formidable and shrewd brother Baltalas. Surtur's century-long conflict was bolstered by Ares and others, aiming to transform Muspelheim into an outpost on the threshold of Chaos, monitoring the stirring of the Primordial Lords.
