Firebrand is a type of tree found exclusively within the region of Anubeth. The local populace, predominantly adherents of the faith of Surtur, colloquially refer to these trees as "Surtur's Toothpicks". Firebrand possesses an ebony hue that glistens like a well-polished gemstone when dampened. This is an unconventional wood that only began to proliferate a short time after the activation of the Pumice Throne. The initial saplings emerged from the rich volcanic soils of Rafthurgar.
Firebrand remains unaffected by the ravages of flame, rendering it a highly valuable resource within the scorching terrain that surrounds it. However, unless imbued with magical fortitude or still thriving, firebrand exposed to intense cold will rapidly succumb to decay, becoming utterly worthless within 1 to 4 days. This susceptibility to frigid temperatures is believed to be the result of a mystical curse, inflicted upon the material by the sentient entity inhabiting the Glacial Throne.
