In 1829, a significant portion of Nautrek became frozen, establishing a land-bridge between Elemantum and Brucrumus. Concurrently, a rupture in the Elemantum Boundary Ward permitted a Cinderfall army to cross the land-bridge and arrive on the shores of Brucrumus. The following year, they engaged in the Cinazan Front, fighting alongside the Horde of Chaos and other allies of the Flux Pact.

This army, under the command of High Marshall Estaran Sorenass, became stranded on Brucrumus when the Elemantum Boundary Ward was repaired.
