These long-deceased marines of diverse nationalities - from the Ivory Asylum, Paradomea, Council of Bile, and any other victims claimed by the death ships of the Armada of the Damned - now lie dormant.

The undead marines of the Armada resemble their living counterparts in their behavior as marines - they serve as boarders of enemy vessels or take part in amphibious assaults on coastal settlements. The number of these marines can vary, with up to 50 aboard a single death ship if it was a warship, or none if the vessel was previously a merchant or fishing ship. Across the entirety of the 31 ships that compose the Armada of the Damned, the typical number of these undead marines can reach as many as 400 under normal circumstances. However, during periods of heightened naval conflicts, such as the Black Tide War (1465 - 1486), the number of Damned Marines has been known to increase to as many as 800.

One of the most harrowing sights is witnessing these marines employ their inherent power to ambulate upon the water's surface. They charge across the waves as if traversing solid ground, assaulting a town and absconding with prospective shipmates before the hapless settlement can rally a defense. Fortunately for the coastal holds of the Pearl Sea and the Sea of Mourning, these raids occur with extreme rarity, as the Armada of the Damned spends the majority of its time reposing upon the ocean floor.
